OUR HISTORY
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer was founded by Mother Alphonse (Elizabeth Eppinger) together with Father John David Reichard her spiritual director and eventual co-superior in Niederbron, Alsace Lorraine, France in 1849. Together they wrote the Holy Rule for the members of the Congregation.
Mother had a great love for the sick and wanted to alleviate their spiritual and corporal sufferings. Her Congregation was founded to take care of the sick poor in their homes and the poor and needy in general. Today two young sisters from the Slovakian Province are caring for their elderly sick sisters in their home, Divine Redeemer Motherhouse. Our aging community members are still doing Mother Alphonse's work by praying for those in need. Visit our Prayer Room to make your needs known. |
